Building your robot: mix & match

Steel Fighters has no fixed character. You take parts from 100+ robots and combine them, so your fighter is whatever your parts add up to. That makes the first rule simple: judge a build by how its parts work together, not by the single strongest piece you own.

A build that can clear floors quickly earns more than a build with one huge stat and nothing to back it up. When you get a new part, ask whether it makes your current clears faster or safer. If it doesn’t, it is a trade-in, not an upgrade.

Endless Floors and bosses

Floors get harder as you climb, and powerful bosses sit along the way. Treat bosses as checkpoints: if a boss stops you, that is the signal to go farm and upgrade, not to keep retrying the same fight.

A good habit is to push until your clears start taking noticeably longer, then step back. Progress in Steel Fighters comes from cycling between pushing floors and strengthening your robot, not from forcing one wall.

The Junkyard and Scrap

Scrap is collected in the Junkyard, and the official page calls it dangerous for a reason. Scrap is what turns into new robots and upgrades, so time in the Junkyard is time invested in your next push.

Spend early Scrap on whatever makes farming itself faster. Every upgrade that shortens a farming run pays for itself many times over before you rebirth. The codes RELEASE, SCRAPKING and DRONES all include Scrap.

Upgrades and when to rebirth

Rebirth resets your progress in exchange for permanent gains. The trap is rebirthing too early, before you have squeezed value out of the current run, or too late, after upgrades have stopped helping.

A simple rule: rebirth when buying another upgrade no longer makes your clears noticeably faster. That is the point where the permanent gain from rebirth is worth more than another round of upgrades.

The Arena (PvP)

Once your robot can hold its own, you can challenge other players. Redeem S3CRETC0DE before you go in: it gives a permanent +10% Arena damage boost, and ARENA adds an Arena Potion and Cash. A build tuned for fast floor clears won’t always be the best one against players, so expect to keep a separate PvP setup as your collection grows.
